O.Z Bangaz initially entered the entertainment Industry at the age of 14 as a professional percussionist, Since then,O.Z Bangaz has produced, written, and composed for a number independent films, plays, local artists, bands, organizations, and projects like The Lullaby Project which was done in partnership between the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Carnegie Hall.

    Currently O.Z Bangaz is working on his 2nd EP titled: Kick Brick Music. while still touring and promoting his debut solo EP: I’m Possible. It is mostly available online at online retailers like “iTunes”, “Apple Music”, “Amazon”, and many more. It can also be found on music streaming sites like “Soundcloud, iHeart Radio, Spotify  and Bandcamp” at ozbangaz.bandcamp.com to name a few. O.Z Bangaz music can also be heard on live radio stations like Serius FM, Power 92 Chicago, The K-Love Show on KBEX 107.9, KBEX Power 107.9  LA, WXEA Hot 94.7, WXEA-107.1 The Beat, and more.

    From 2003 until 2020, O.Z Bangaz was also a staffed artist (actor, director, playwright, and instructor) and activist for the award winning Storycatchers Theatre which works with justice involved youth to teach them to consider thoughtful life choices through the process of writing, performing, and producing original musical theatre based on personal life stories. During that same time period ,O.Z Bangaz was commissioned to manage. a Hip Hop leadership program that he created called “iLEAD” (I Lead, Encourage, Act, and Dance), O.Z Bangaz created the program at the request of Old Town School of Folk Music (OTSFM) to implement at Chicago Public Schools that are experiencing an art desert.

     O.Z Bangaz was also  nominated for the prestigious 3ARTs award in Teaching Artistry. In 2014,  2015, and 2016. 3Arts ranked O.Z Bangaz in the top 5 Teaching Artist in Chicago. O.Z bangaz has only accomplished a fraction of his career goals. He is enjoying the journey and is grateful for the opportunity to work with so many great organizations and talented artist from multiple genres and disciplines.     Currently O.Z Bangaz is finishing up his first book, which is a memoir about life lessons and experiences that he has had, survived, and overcame, as a result of being boirn a Black man in America with Albinism. The book is expected to be completed by the end of 2023

     O.Z Bangaz has also accepted a full ride to Northwestern University in the field of learning Sciences to enhance the work he is doing with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated youth.
